Today's post was supposed to be a quick one, as I had this day blocked off on my desk calendar to get my office work caught up. As usual, the wisdom of Al Swearingen has been borne out. It was almost 70 degrees on Sunday. Yesterday afternoon started the sleet and freezing rain, and as you can see in the picture below snapped at 7:30 am, it's now snowing like a bastard out there.
The expected accumulation is 4 to 6 inches, but the actual total could be another 5 inches either way. (Well, maybe not either way. The math doesn't quite work out as there's already an inch on the ground. But you know what I mean.)
The long and the short of it is I'm taking the day off. School has been cancelled, as have tonights activities (Chess club, Dance class, Art class, and a pitching lesson). The cupboard is stocked, and we're in for the duration.
The teenager is still sleeping, and youngest child is upstairs discovering the joys of actually reading the Harry Potter books. I'm taking the opportunity to update our family website--something that is long overdue--and to generally clear out some space on my hard drive. For later on, we have some Netfilx here and we're not afraid to use them.
The video below is the one I promised from Sunday. It's about 6 minutes long, and like most things on this blog, it's only mildly entertaining. Youngest child shot all of the video using the digital camera she bought with her dog-sitting money. Both of us took still pictures, and she helped me put it all together using iMovie.

PS-
Randomeme is starting to kick like it did in the old days of the Glory Road, with only a few songs remaining. Some of the remaining artists might be:
Your Youngest is just darling. She's a chip off the old block. Great
video. I'm cracking up that she calls you Sire!!!
Nice vid. I'm glad somebody else posts pics/stories about their children.
Thanks for linking to my place. May I return the favor?
Wow, 8 inches! It's gray and overcast here on the Northeast, but I can't
complain because I would go absolutely bonkers if it was 70 degrees one day
and 8 inches of snow the next. I remember it happening a few years back,
but right now, I need some serious sun!
well, that was an entertaining view of life at your place.
